Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan Muslim League-N has set records of public service. He said that the masses will demolish all "statues of corruption" in the general elections. The Chief Minister expressed these views while talking to Chaudhry Khadim Hussain, newly elected MPA from Jhelum in the by-elections, and a delegation of office-bearers and workers of PML-N from Jhelum on Saturday.

Development projects in Jhelum and political situation were discussed in the meeting. General Secretary PML-N Punjab Raja Ashfaq Sarwar, MNA Hamza Shahbaz Sharif and Raja Iqbal Mehdi were also present on the occasion.

Shahbaz Sharif said that the thumping success of the PML-N in the by-elections has held the opponents awe-struck and the masses have undoubtedly expressed their full confidence in the leadership of PML-N which will come up to their expectations at all costs.

The Chief Minister congratulated Chaudhry Khadim Hussain for winning the by-election and said that PML-N has achieved massive success and its candidates will also win the general elections with thumping majority.

He said that the PML-N under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif will begin the journey of development again and put the country on the path of development after steering it out of crises. He said the PML-N will change the destiny of the nation and the country, and will improve living standards of the deprived segments of the society. He said that the only way of progress in the country is merit and new culture has promoted in Pakistan especially Punjab due to the merit policy of the Punjab government. He said that the people of Pakistan have deep affection for Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and they admire policies of PML-N. He said the Punjab government has utilised all resources for the progress and development of the people and to provide them relief, and if the masses gave him another chance then more resources will be spent on their welfare and betterment. He asked the Parliamentarians, office-bearers and workers of PML-N to enhance contacts with the people and utilise all their energies to resolve problems of the masses.

The office-bearers and workers of PML-N from Jhelum said that Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif proved himself as "public servant" in real sense by serving the masses round the clock. They said the victory of PML-N in by-elections reflects the confidence of the public in the merit policies of the Punjab government.
